About

The Backstory

Hi, my name is Deborah and I’m an artist based in the scenic sunny Port Stephens NSW, having moved here from Melbourne for a sea change in 2005.

Murals on the Moove was named appropriately as I intended to travel and paint as I went. The ‘Moove’ was named after my late father who owned a dairy farm where I grew up.  In 2021 I bought a $200 van, a 30 year old Toyota Tarago with one seat and 400,000 kilometres on the odometer. I bought it with the intention of using it as a fun sleep out for the kids in the backyard. However, after realising mechanically it was in excellent condition I decided to register it and get on the road. I couldn’t wait to paint up my new wheels, and had it painted head to toe within a few hours with landscapes and bright colours. It’s the best business card I’ve ever had. I’ve been to Cairns twice painting and leaving my art footprint all up the coast. There is a saying that goes, love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life. I absolutely love what I do. I’ve never felt younger. My art style has changed over time. I love the challenge of bringing to life what my customers envisioned for their desired space. As an artist, life is not boring. My life is colourful, spontaneous and I love hitting the road and travelling and continuing doing what I love.  Watch interview with Deb below!!
